2nd INTERNATIONAL COLLOQUIUM ON THE INTER-AMERICAN SYSTEM OF HUMAN RIGHTS


 


On November 10, 2021, the 2nd edition of the International Colloquium on the Inter-American Human Rights System was held in collaboration with New England Universities and Law Centers: Boston College Law, Boston University School of Law, New England Law Boston, The Mexican Association Harvard Law, Center for International Law and Policy, Faculty of Law-UNAM, UNAM-International and UNAM-Boston.


Outstanding speakers and moderators held the inauguration of the event with 4 sessions in which the following topics were addressed: The impact on economic, social, cultural, and environmental rights, the impact on the rights of migrants and refugees, the impact of indigenous rights and the United States and the Inter-American Court of Human Rights.


Specialists from different institutions, including the IASHR, OEA, UC Berkeley School of Law, Global Rights Advocacy, Legal Global Chile, Suffolk University of Law, Seattle University of Law, Universidad Autónoma de Chiapas, Texas Austin Law School, University of Notre-Dame, Harvard Law School, uniting and exchanging knowledge and opinions on the current situation of human rights, breaking with that very damaging barriers about there are no generations of rights, there are interdependent and interrelated divisible human rights, which should be a flag of application in all national and international systems, both water, such as food, health, work, education, as well as political rights, access to justice are needed, generating this space to create alliances and strategies, continually finding and open recommendations and conclusions in this event.


Taking a very enriched knowledge of all the specialists and their conclusions, among they point it out: the use of public policies that generate social inclusion, generate strategies to break with structural barriers, the recognition as a life project of the human right as it is associated with others prospects such as personal fulfilment such as freedom, dignity, existence, the importance of knowing and listening to the history of the peoples in order to solve different problems and finally that the United States submit to contentious jurisdictions such as the Inter-American Court of human rights.


Closing with more than 200 spectators, being a success in its virtual version, the 3rd edition of the Colloquium will be awaiting, hoping to continue contributing on the matter and with the presence of transcendent figures who are experts on the subject and fighting for justice of Human Rights.
